Dr. Arnold Kegel, a Los Angeles
gynecologist in the mid-1940's proved under
scientific conditions that 93% of all female incontinence could
be cured by properly exercising certain "pelvic floor"
muscles.
Dr. Kegel's life's work has been
"misconstrued" by the incontinence industry.
They (the manufacturers of adult diapers and others) are the
ones who originally paid to make it part of medical
(specifically nursing) "protocol" to recommend "kegels".
Dr. Kegel specifically warned against merely giving oral
instructions to do squeezes without using resistance.
Only 5% of women attempting "kegels" in this manner
realize benefits.
Furthermore, and please read this
carefully: 25% of women who attempt to do kegels will make
their incontinence worse, as this is the result of inadvertently
exercising the wrong muscles..
One of the features of the Kegelmaster is that it cradles
